This reverence for combat is so ingrained that the AZK maintains a “waiting list” for those eager to participate. While the Reik may not engage in constant warfare, it always deploys at least a few legions of volunteer forces abroad. Outsiders, puzzled by the Reik’s creation of a volunteer corps despite its deep-seated xenophobia, fail to grasp its true purpose: strategic destabilization.
